Toronto Police are calling on the public to see if they have any information regarding a small, frail elderly woman who supposedly stole a Louis Vuitton purse and a large amount of cash from the lobby of the Art Gallery of Ontario.
The report from CP24 states that an 18-year-old woman was sitting in the lobby of the AGO chatting to another woman. When the 18-year-old woman was distracted the elderly lady in question reached behind her and took the purse. CP24 says after talking to the police it’s clear that this was not an accident. The purse and the cash inside the purse is valued at more than $5,000.
Toronto Police now say they are looking for an elderly Asian woman, approximately 75 standing around five-foot-two. She is thin with a frail build and greyish shoulder length hair. She walks very slowly and was last seen wearing a dark jacket and carrying a blue shopping bag. The description is fairly broad so don’t go out and start accusing your grandma.
After reading this story it’s good to note that your belongings are never safe, always keep an eye out because as this report shows you, there is no “general look” to criminals, and your $5,000 Louis purse could be snatched by a thieving senior citizen.
