Valentine’s day for some is considered the sexiest day of the year so, it’s no surprise that American Apparel would reveal there newest lingerie model just a couple of weeks before the day of love. Jacky O’Shaughnessy is no stranger to American Apparel ads. She was scouted in a restaurant in 2011 and starred in their ‘Advanced Basics’ campaign a couple years back. You may remember seeing the spicy image below, before.
American Apparel recently posted a photo of O’Shaughnessy on their Facebook and Instagram pages with the caption, “Sexy has no expiration date.” While the retailer makes a lot of whacky marketing calls, I’d like to give American Apparel a standing ovation for this one. A lot of people give them flak for their overtly sexual ads or hairy window displays, but they’re one of the only companies to use real women as models and forgo photoshop and it looks like we’re not the only people who appreciate this. American Apparel has received tons of praise on their Facebook page for ’embracing old age’. One commenter even called the image ‘an example of beauty and strength for women of all ages.’
Jacky O’Shaughnessy is absolutely stunning and I’m sure I’m not the only one who hopes they look half as good as her when they turn 62. What do you think of the campaign?
