Over this most recent weekend, APPLE sold a record of more than 10 million iPhones with the debut of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 +. If you checked up on the blog on friday, we were reporting that lineups were exceeding 1,000 shoppers and that Apple had already pre-sold 4 million units. Consumers seem to love the larger screens as sales surpassed last year’s iPhone 5 which sold a still staggering 9 million units.
“While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible,” Chief Executive OfficerTim Cook said in the statement.
Although 10 million is a huge number, analysts were projecting sales as 15 million units considering the iPhone 5 sold 9 million, and was not immediately available in China.
Look out for Apple’s highly anticipated iWatch and Apple Pay expected late this year, early next year.
