Earlier this month, we announced that Canada’s largest Christmas Tree was landing in Toronto at CF Toronto Eaton Centre and last week, a huge crowd of Torontonians gathered to watch its unveiling. With Choir! Choir! Choir!, one of the city’s largest choir groups in the city, singing a beautiful rendition of Louis Armstrongs’ What a Wonderful World, we don’t think there’s anything more festive!

But one thing we couldn’t help but wonder was, how the heck did they get a massive 100 ft. tall tree into the mall?! Jeff Simmonds, Marketing Manager at CF Toronto Eaton Centre tells us that though the tree is artificial, the process wasn’t as simple as one might think.

Carried in in sections, the tree was created over a span of 7 days in the property and took a team of over 30 people to assemble. The tree spans over all three floors of the centre and stands at a whopping 108 feet tall if you count the star on top!

The massive Christmas tree is beautifully illuminated with over 200,000 red and white lights and 1598 branches. The tree can be seen from almost every angle you stand in the mall.

And while there’s nothing that gets us in the mood for the holidays quite like a massive Christmas tree, the tree is not all that CF Toronto Eaton Centre is doing to bring the magic of the holiday season to their guests! Taking a step into the mall instantly immerses you into a wonderland. Decked out in holiday decor, CF Toronto Eaton Centre has everything from massive floor pieces that you can walk though to ornaments suspended from the ceiling to a beloved Santa experience. Not to mention, valet service, free wifi, free mobile charging stations and more to make the holiday shopping that much easier and fun.

The massive Christmas tree will be in CF Toronto Eaton Centre until January 6th and it’s totally worth braving the mall crowds to check out, so don’t miss it!
