World Famous accessories brand Coach, has dominated the North-American mid-range handbag market, and now they look to dominate in the ready-to-wear-category as well.

Coach’s Creative Director Reed Krakoff told WWD that the brand is looking to evolve from accessories makers to lifestyle brand. The brand plans to release footwear first, with a RTW collection coming shortly after.

WWD states that this is a very dramatic shift for Coach, who insisted for years that the company would not move into the clothing market.

The brand has made attempts at doing apparel before, but with a limited scope.

If the clothing is loved as much as the bags, expect it to be almost ubiquitous by spring 2014.
