When it comes to denim, finding the perfect piece – whether it’s a jacket or a pair of jeans – can be difficult. Fit, style, wash and price are all factors, but when you find something (or a brand) that you love, stick with it.
In my lifetime, I’ve tried almost every brand under the denim umbrella, and I’ve found a few favourites that have become my go-tos. One of those brands is Fidelity Denim. Founded in Vancouver by Jason Trotzuk, Fidelity Denim is made in LA with premium fabrics imported from Italy and Japan.
Personally, I’ve spent years searching high and low for the perfect denim staples. For me, the perfect pair of denim enhances my body in all the right places; elongating my legs (I’m only 5’0 tall), lifting my tush (I’ve got a certified flat butt), and hugging my curves (no matter how small they may be).
The Mila jean in New York Dark (pictured above) are on heavy rotation in my closet right now. They can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with sneakers, paired with a blouse, a white tee or a denim shirt for true Canadian feels. To me, investing in premium denim is worth every penny – a pair of good jeans will last you a lifetime.
Another closet essential is the denim jacket. When leather weather subsides, it’s my go-to for outerwear. The Heatherette Destroyer is another piece from Fidelity Denim that I love.
In the past, I’ve had denim jackets that were way too stiff and never broke in. The Heatherette Destroyer is super soft and relaxed with an oversized, vintage fit. Above, I’m wearing it with a striped jumper but for summer nights or the next music festival I attend, I’ll pair it with a crop top and denim short-shorts for Kelly Kapowski vibes.
If you’re on the hunt for a pair of quality denim that doesn’t stretch out too much, will last you a lifetime, and won’t cost you an arm and a leg, check out Fidelity Denim.
