After much anticipation, American heritage brand Filson has opened its first store in Toronto, located on the prominent Queen St. West strip. The Toronto location is the 120-year-old brand’s second store in Canada, with the first opening in Vancouver earlier this year.
Like most stores on Queen St. West, Filson is long, but less narrow than typical retail spaces in the area. The front area is home to Filson’s durable luggage and accessories, while the back houses a large collection of menswear, womenswear and outdoor accessories.
The store itself is an homage to the adventurers, fisherman, hunters, and growing outdoor community that love the brand, with custom furniture built from local salvaged wood, iron beams, wooden floors and a beautiful canoe hanging centre in the back of the store. Plaid accents and vintage Filson imagery complete the look, giving the store a rustic cabin vibe.
