IKEA’s Weird New Promotion Involves Peeing
What are you willing to do for a discount? IKEA has come up with a very different type of marketing campaign that is definitely a bit odd. It involves peeing on a magazine. Yes, you heard us right.
According to AdWeek, there is a brand new promotion for one of IKEA’s cribs in a popular Swedish women’s magazine, and it’s a bit bizarre. To access the discount price, you have to pee on the ad, which also includes a secret pregnancy test. If you test positive, a special “family price” will become visible in the ad. I suppose it is also technically a free pregnancy test but I wouldn’t count on it.
This idea was created by the award-winning PR agency, Åkestam Holst. Even though it’s pretty gross, it’s definitely newsworthy and grabbing everyone’s attention!
