About a year ago we explored Cineplex’s Rec Room in Edmonton, a large-scale gaming, and sports bar complex that caters to the 19+, young at heart crowd.
Due to Cineplex’s success with the format in Edmonton, the popular Rec Room will be coming to downtown Toronto. The new Rec Room will be housed in the former Leon’s furniture store at Roundhouse Park.
Although the Toronto Rec Room won’t be as expansive as the one in Edmonton ( which has a bowling alley and axe-throwing facility), The Toronto Rec Room will feature 75+ games, a massive sports bar a large patio and a venue space for live entertainment.
Toronto’s Rec Room will feature a sit-down restaurant that features Canadian cuisine as well a fast-casual service restaurant. Currently posted on the Rec Room Website is a list of their restaurants which include:

THE SHED: Poutine and donuts – both pair perfectly with the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat… Head to The Yard for food that’s as fun as your time at The Rec Room.
We haven’t heard a concrete opening date, but BlogTO is reporting that it is likely that The Rec Room will open in Toronto sometime this summer.
