When you’re planning your weekend cottage escapes this summer, there’s one spot we suggest putting on your radar – the OK Friday Barn Fair at Burl’s Creek! Located at 180 8th Line S in Oro-Medonte, ON between Barrie, ON and Orillia, ON (just a 15-minute drive north of Barrie, off Highway 11), the OK Friday Barn Fair is a weekly arts and market space full of live music, local farmers and artisans, and imports from a couple of Toronto’s best restaurants.
Done in collaboration with The Karma Project, this weekly event is the perfect place to take a break from traffic and destress during your commute to the cottage. Peruse fresh and delicious locally sourced jams, honey, meats, cheeses and more at the market, and yummy ready-to-eat treats by Rodney’s Oyster House (think fresh oysters and mussels) and Chef Anthony Rose (of Rose and Sons, Fat Pasha and Big Crow).
Visitors will also be able to find their zen with free outdoor yoga classes led by Shanti Vira Yoga Studio and Green River Yoga Company at 3:00 pm every Friday or sit back and relax while notable Canadian bands curated by Arts and Crafts jam out. Oh, and we can’t forget the wine, which no relaxing weekend getaway is complete without! There will be on-site tastings and bottles available for purchase by award-winning VQA Wines by Norman Hardie.
The market is open every Friday this summer (excluding July 24th and August 27th when it will be closed for these two huge music festivals) from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm until Friday, October. 9, 2015. Learn more about OK Fridays:
