The OVO Store is Staying in Toronto for Good
What’s Drake giving his hometown for Christmas? Apparently, a permanent OVO store. A couple of months ago, we reported some suspicious activity at 899 Dundas St. West. The window of the retail space was covered in Drake’s record label/streetwear line logo and surrounding neighbours said they had seen the space being filled with TV screens, boxes and graffiti art. The space opened to the public earlier this month and Toronto Life has confirmed that the space is here to stay! The store is owned by Oliver El-Khatib, OVO’s co-founder. The crisp white space is filled with a selection of OVO merchandise: “6” toques, t-shirts with OVO’s signature owl and the new OVO x Canada Goose collection. El-Khatib told the Toronto Life that “he hopes the place will become a hub for the city’s creatives, where people can stop in and ‘see what the kids are wearing and what they’re listening to.'” Hopefully there will be run-ins with Drake or even better – more free stuff!
