Good news future brides, everyone’s favourite wedding dress reality show is coming to Canada! The popular TLC show, Say Yes to the Dress is coming to Canada and is set to launch in 2015 on the W Network. Despite the recent opening of Kleinfelds Bridal in the Hudson’s Bay, the show will not be filmed in a Kleinfelds boutique as they do for the American program. Instead, the show will be filmed at the 35-year-old Amanda-Lina’s Sposa Boutique in Woodbridge, Ontario.
Vibiki Bianchi, vice-president of women’s and family original programming with the W Network broadcaster Corus Entertainment told the Toronto Star that many factors came into play when deciding on where to film the show. Researchers looked at over 20 bridal boutiques in Toronto and decided on Amanda-Lina’s Sposa Boutique because of it’s history and family ties. The 35-year-old family business is full of “interesting characters” that will open the door to “all kinds of [stories].” The American version of Say Yes to the Dress is filled with drama, meltdowns, and exciting moments as brides search for the dress of their dreams – Bianchi said Canadian viewers should expect nothing less.
