Toronto malls are setting the standards high in terms of shopping experience. In January 2014, Yorkdale Shopping Centre announced a $331 million expansion including a world class luxury wing anchored by Nordstrom. CF Eaton Centre followed suit with a similar expansion of their north wing, adding more than 15 new stores is less than a year and CF Sherway Gardens just finished up their new North wing and currently has a $350 million expansion underway.
Next up is Scarborough Town Centre! The Eastern Toronto shopping destination will be investing $35-million on a new food and dining expansion. The project will evolve STC’s current food court into an upscale 2-level eatery with quick-service food vendors, new premium, fast-casual restaurants, upgraded restrooms and retail stores.
The project has a set completion date of May 2017. Renovation is expected to take approximately 19 months and once finished, will feature a glass bridge walkway, 22+ quick-service food vendors, 3 premium, fast-casual, full-service restaurants, added seating capacity, interior patio-style seating beneath a skylight and 12 new retailers.
