Even the cleanest of people get a little messy sometimes! Stains happen, but they don’t have to ruin your favourite piece of clothing or cost you your hard earned dollars to remove. Fortunately, there are a number of at home solutions to get rid of some of the toughest stains and best of all, you probably already have them in your home. Check out our stain removing tips below – they’ll all cost you less than $5 each!
1. Oil Stains
It might be from cooking oil, facial oil or even massage oil, regardless of its type – apply baby powder or baking soda onto the affected area. Leave it on for 15 minutes and dust off. Repeat this process until the stain is gone. The powder will help absorb all the oil from your clothes.
2. Water & Salt Stains
Whether it’s your favourite pair of leather boots or jacket, water stains can sometimes be inevitable. Use a mixture of vinegar and cold water to wash off any water stains on your leather goods.
3. Wine Stains
Clean off clothes that may have been freshly damaged by red wine with salt which will instantly soak up and absorb the red wine.
4. Sweat Stains
Before you drop the shirt into the wash, apply some lemon juice to the stained area and watch it come out like brand new.
