Shop Spotlight: Capezio
Capezio, the cool, younger sister of David’s, is the shoe closet you’ve always coveted. Brands like Jeffrey Campbell, Senso, Michael Kors, Shellys London, TBA by Solestruck and more are what dreams are made of and the reason why we decided to make it our store of the week. If you’ve never heard of Capezio, be prepared to make this blogger favourite, your go-to for future-forward brands, basic boots and high-end inspired looks. We got to sit down and chat with their buyer and social media guru, Kaila Campisi and Maegan Fidelino about what’s new for fall, their favourite looks for the season and what we can expect in Spring 2014 and the future.
If you’re the type of woman whose trend driven, brand & quality conscious and want to make a statement with your shoes, than Capezio is the right store for you. “We look at the girls walking down the street and we want to make sure that she has the shoes that will take her from point A to point B,” Kaila tells us, “we do a lot of research in what’s happening in fashion. We look to our favourite high-end designers like Alexander Wang, Chloe, Celine and Balenciaga, see what they’re doing and figure out how we can translate that into our lines.” Shoes range at about $100 to $300, depending on the category. One line that you must check out to up your fashion edge is the new in-house line that Capezio launched last season, Solective. The prices average out at about $120 to $150, are all made in Spain and constructed from genuine leather. “[Creating the Solective line] was a way of providing styles we felt were necessary and a great companion alongside the other collections, at really affordable prices and amazing quality.” The Solective brand has even become a favourite amongst staff, “[my favourite shoe this season is] the Cara, because even though it’s in-house, they look high-end, like a Margiela or an Alexander Wang” Maegan gushes. Kaila’s personal favourite was the Hood boot by Jeffrey Campbell which you can peep below.
Although September is just beginning, we all know that Christmas parties can start as early as November, so we got the scoop on what to expect for the holiday season. “Lots of metallic’s! We’ve already started to see a bit of that this fall, but holiday will be more glittered. You can also expect lots of transitional boots for going into spring like ankle boots with peep toes and caged in shoes with sling backs” Kaila explains. And if you’re already over fall and winter, it’s never too early to start thinking about next spring when we can expect tons of two-toned shoes, stacked heels with ankle straps, flatforms, front foot straps and 90s grunge. If you were really into the neon look, well it looks like it might be time to say goodbye! Next spring, we’ll be seeing more neutral colours like cream, tan, ivory and denim blues.
We wish we could shop all the shoes, but we know that sometimes we only have enough in our budget for one. Kaila’s suggestion? “Ankle boots, ankle boots, ankle boots! They’re easy for seasonal transition and can be dressed up and down.” So head down to Capezio and grab your new favourite shoes!
