The last time we caught up with BRIKA, an online destination for modern crafts and community of artisans and designers, they had just finished a collaboration with Madewell and were about to open their first pop-up shop inside the Hudson’s Bay Toronto flagship. It’s been a little over a year since then and BRIKA shows no signs of slowing down! They recently opened a 3,000-square-foot holiday pop-up shop at Yorkdale Shopping Centre that features a specially curated selection of well-crafted and highly giftable items, a DIY corner, and cafe that serves up artisanal drinks and baked goods from Moo Milk Bar.
As you can tell, this shop is like no other. BRIKA is always trying to inspire and engage their community, which is why they decided to incorporate a DIY corner into the store to be used for weekly workshops, hosted by artists and influencers, and open to all individuals. The DIY corner also features a gift-wrapping station where shoppers can use their creativity to wrap their newly purchased gifts.
One of the workshops we’re most excited for is the series hosted by My Little Secrets and DeLight Floral Design. They will be hosting two workshops: a DIY whimsical wreath workshop and a DIY holiday centerpiece workshop. The sessions run for two hours each and all supplies are provided, making it great way to meet new people, spend an evening with friends or express your creativity. One session is $95 + HST or you can do both sessions for $175 HST. Get full details about the workshops and the workshop schedule here or buy tickets here.
Another interactive feature to check out at the BRIKA holiday pop-up shop is their partnership with CloudTags. BRIKA is the first Canadian retailer to use the innovative technology. Shoppers will have the option to use tablets to explore product, learn more about the artisans featured in shop, and create wishlists that can be emailed afterwards. You do not want to miss out on this pop-up, it’s a shopping experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen before! The BRIKA Holiday Pop-Up is open until January 2016.
