Last week Target Canada announced that they would be closing all 133 of their Canadian locations and (all of us bargain hunters know that) with store closures come liquidation sales! Despite how busy stores were this weekend, Target has not begun liquidating stores yet and we will probably be waiting until at least the end of the month before we see any major discounts. In a press release, Target stated that liquidation would begin within 2-3 weeks and they confirmed that fact on Twitter today. The same release stated that there are no set dates on when Target stores will be closing, but that the typical process time is 16-20 weeks, so we could see Target stores closing as early as May 2015. Stores will be closed on a case-to-case basis. We’re still unsure of how deep the discounts will be, but if you see something you like, we suggest you grab it now! An anonymous Target employee recently told the Globe and Mail that if a product gets sold out between now and Target’s closure, it will not be getting restocked!
