New York Fashion Week is in full swing, and we were excited to view one of our “favourites” new collection.
Tommy Hilfiger’s 2013 Women’s collection is an blend of exquisite high-end tailoring and a preppy americana that only only the likes of Tommy and Ralph can exude. Hilfiger looks to the Savile Row of the 1960’s for inspiration ( old -school tailoring mixed with a heavy Mod influences), which gives the collection a very English feel (Think Downton Abbey meets the Mod Club) . To top it off, although the finished product is very feminine you can definitely see the menswear heavy inspiration. the collection is packed with tweeds, plaids, Prince of Wales Check patterns and custom fabric I couldn’t make out. Every jacket was designed for women, but they had me dreaming of sporting a rugged tweed on british hunt in the country-side.
