The blissful summer days might seem endless but news flash – it’s already August (say what?), and the summer is whizzing by right before our eyes. It’s high time we stop complaining about how hot it is and get out to enjoy all the summer happenings around the 6ix. From festivals to food to music, make the most of the warm weather before you hear yourself saying, “winter is coming”.
These are the top 10 things to in Toronto this August:
Kensington Food Crawl (Beginning August 5th)
Hungry? Eat your way through one of Toronto’s most eclectic neighbourhoods! For $65 enjoy six food and drink tastings from select cheese shops, butchers, bakeries, spice shops and more, all while learning about the unique history of Kensington Market. Trust us, your stomachs will be thanking you all day long. See five different tour dates over the course of August beginning on the 5th here.
One of the most anticipated summer markets in Toronto is back! There’s nothing we love more than supporting homegrown talent, so make sure to check out Toronto Urban Collective’s latest market. With over 100 local vendors including handmade jewelry, leather goods, fresh baked goods and more, there’s bound to be something for everyone. Tickets are going for $5 online and at the door but if you act fast, you can score tickets for free here!
Estrella Damm Tapas Journey (August 12-21)
Gather up the crew for one finger-licking good event! For only $20, enjoy three thoughtfully prepared tapas dishes with an ice cold Spanish Lager during the Estrella Damm Tapas Journey. For 10 days, taste the specials at over 35 participating restaurants including Bar Raval, Bar Reyna, Carmen, Fat Pasha, Nuit Social, Rasa Bar, The Good Son and more.

Craft Beer Fest (August 13-14)
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. Grab a cold one (or two or three) at Craft Beer Fest. Roundhouse Park, the home of Steam Whistle Brewery, will host a glorious food and beer filled weekend with over 30 different food trucks and craft brewers: Steam Whistle Brewing, Muskoka Brewery, Amsterdam Brewery and more. Get your sampling cup (needed for admission) for $20 online or $25 at the door.
TOM (August 15-23)
Gear up in your most fashionable attire and head out to TOM (Toronto Men’s Fashion Week). The annual presentation of runway shows is back to showcase the SS17 Collections and from what we can tell, they look fresh as hell. Noteworthy shows include Kollar, Finezza, Hendrix Roe, Caffrey Van Horne, and the always-anticipated MensFashion4Hope Walk-a-thon. Scoop up single-show tickets starting at $20, day passes for $75, or (for those fashion connoisseurs,) a 3 day pass for $225

Harvest Moon Festival (August 18)
Get ready to eat, drink and dance the night away! The Harvest Moon Festival, one of the best summer festivals, is coming to the Markham Fairgrounds. Celebrate the richness (or rather deliciousness) of the area and indulge in numerous wine, craft beer and gourmet food vendors as you listen to live tunes by the Marion Drexler Band and more. But act fast! For a limited time we’re giving away 2-for-1 tickets.
Sail-In Cinema (August 18-20)
Ditch the movie theatre (boring) and see your next flick outside for FREE at the Sail-In Cinema. Feast your eyes on the world’s first two-sided, floating cinema – yes, it’s literally brought into Sugar Beach on a barge. This year’s theme is “Books to Big Screen” so movie goers can expect to enjoy some of their favourite stories: Hook, Jumanji and The Princess Bride. See showtimes here

Mad Decent Block Party (August 19)
Get ready to pound the pavement at Mad Decent Block Party! The beat-blasting, electronic music festival will be coming through Toronto on Friday, August 19th. Tickets start at only $46.50, so gather up the crew and head out to Fort York for headliners like Diplo, Grandtheft, Nghtmre x Slander and more to be announced soon.
Let’s go to the ex! The CNE, Toronto’s favourite end of summer ritual, is always a blast with copious amounts of fried food and amusement rides. If that doesn’t do it for you there’s alway a ton of exhibits and performances including celebrity chef demonstrations, musical performances (The Trews) and more. Catch the last rays of summer at the CNE from August 19th to September 5th and grab your tickets here.
Still boggled by the Famous music video? Now’s your chance to see Yeezy in the flesh (and potentially some inappropriate wax figures?). Kanye will be playing at the Air Canada Centre on Tuesday, August 30th and Wednesday, August 31st with tickets starting at $85. We wonder if Taylor is invited…
