It was revealed on Thursday announcing on Twitter that Toronto Fashion Week has been sold to IMG Canada and that Robin Kay is stepping down as president of the FDCC.

IMG is the same company that runs New York Fashion Week, so this could be good for the Canadian fashion show. Insiders are speculating that this new purchase will help bring more press to the Toronto event, and perhaps draw in bigger names to showcase some of their collections. More importantly to the designers that have collections they are planning to show at Fashion Week, this new venture will draw in more American buyers and retailers.

The purchase of Toronto Fashion Week and what comes next is still unfolding so it will be exciting to see what happens!
