McDonald’s recently launched its first standalone McCafé in one of Toronto’s busiest destinations, Union Station. The concept is the first in all of North America and serves up coffee, baked goods and an entirely new line of soups, sandwiches, salads, bagels and… all-day breakfast!
Many Canadians were disappointed when the American-fast food chain originally announced they would not be rolling out all-day McDonald’s breakfast in locations across Canada earlier in the year, so of course, today’s announcement was a big and warm-welcomed surprise.
McCafé will serve up four varieties of Egg McMuffins alongside dishes like lentil and sweet potato hummus wraps with kale ($5.99) and kale and brussel sprouts salad with mixed vegetables ($6.99). According to the Financial Post, a second McCafé location will open inside the downtown Exchange Tower come January. If all goes well, standalone McCafés will open across Canada.
