Toronto is Getting a Virtual Reality Lounge and Play-Lab

Travelling the world and sitting front row at your favourite sports game is about to get a whole lot more accessible. Toronto is about to get a new futuristic arcade, gallery and event space that will turn all your dreams into (virtual) reality.

Dubbed House of VR, the new lounge will launch mid-April inside the historic Burroughes Building (639 Queen St. West). It will be the first lounge of its kind in the city, consisting of 10 “View” units (360? cinematic films) and 13 “Play” units (games and experiences in 1st and 3rd person). And the types of experiences you can have are endless. Think popular VR games like shooting cardboard zombies, and experiences in tourism, entertainment, meditation, live sports, and more.

And that’s not it. House of VR will host a number of other interactive features as well, such as a pillow lounge with hand-gesture controlled lighting, a galaxy installation and colour-changing murals.

Keep an eye on HouseofVR.com for the official launch date.

Will you check out House of VR when it opens? Let us know in the comment section.
