Uber is quietly working on a project that could see the allowance of online shoppers to get same-day delivery from both a new service called UberRush and regular Uber cab drivers.
According to an article released on Tech Crunch, Uber is currently in talks with Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany’s, Cohen’s Fashion Optical and Hugo Boss, and up to 400 other retailers who are interested in using UberRush.
It’s a smart and interesting move for Uber, as the tech company has never stated that they are a Taxi company, Uber is a technology company connecting people with vehicles to people that don’t. Essentially Uber could enter any market where something needs to be transported from one place to another.
No updates yet as to when UberRush may enter the Canadian market.
