Okay, I know it’s barely spring, but the warm-ish weather has me thinking about all of the fun, summertime adventures I’m going to be going on and the footwear that’s going to take me there!

Earlier this year, I was introduced to a brand called KEEN. I had never heard of them (albeit I’m not exactly the outdoorsy type), but they’re best known for the way they effortlessly combine outdoor functionality and casual wear. One product of theirs particularly caught my eye… Allow me to introduce you KEEN’s latest design, UNEEK.

These shoes are definitely unique looking. I’d never seen anything like them, which is why they caught my eye. They’re made with just two simple water-resistant cords (see photo above) and without the use of traditional machinery, glues or conventional material. The cords make the shoes extremely light and breathable, letting air flow through and the rubber bottoms make them slip-proof with a super strong grip on slick surfaces. Though I won’t get to officially wear mine until the weather gets warmer (I have the gargoyle/bright chartreuse), I’m sure my new UNEEK by KEEN kicks will become a go-to for summer hikes, camping, exploring water rapids near my farm, running around at muddy music festivals or hanging out at a cottage!

UNEEK by KEEN is now available across North American in more than 14 colours for men and women. They’re available for $120 at more than 200 retailers across Canada and online at KEENFootwear.com. Watch how they’re made below!

Will you give UNEEK by KEEN a shot?
