Although the rumours surrounding Uniqlo’s Canadian arrival have been swirling for almost two years now, it looks like we finally have some official news. Our friends at Retail-Insider are reporting that Uniqlo will open two locations in the GTA during the 2016 fall season. While the Yorkdale Mall location has already been confirmed, Uniqlo will also open a CF Eaton Centre location as well. There has been no news as to whether or not these will be the only two GTA locations for the Japanese retailer, we suspect though the brand will probably open a third Toronto location either close to Bloor Street, on Queen Street West or in CF Sherway Gardens.  If you’ve ever been to a major city like New York or London, Uniqlo’s can be found in almost every popular shopping neighbourhood, so it’s likely that Uniqlo will employ similar strategies in the Canadian market.

We expect that Uniqlo will be quite successful in the Canadian market. Fast fashion brands like H&M and Forever 21 have been experiencing some of their highest sales ever in Canada, and it’s likely that Uniqlo will capture some of this hot market.  Uniqlo is known for their unique retailing, and stylish clothing at a great price.
