Are light-up sneakers cool? Well, Walmart wants to believe so. At Walmart’s annual shareholder meeting, the chief merchandising officer Steve Bratspies announced that the company is investing in a bold new footwear trend. What he was alluding to is the idea that Walmart expects to sell $25 million USD worth of LED light sneakers.

The sneakers get a charge from a USB port and has a battery life of 8 hours. Walmart expects to sell the shoes around $19.97 USD starting next month.

The goal for Walmart is to outsell everyone else who is selling LED light sneakers and at the $19 price point they may just undercut everyone else and be successful that way.
