Yorkdale Mall Celebrates 50 Years of Style
It’s absolutely crazy to think that Yorkdale mall will be turning 50-years-old in just one day! They’ve gone through so many amazing changes over the past 50 years and have acted as the gateway for dozens of international retailers like AllSaints, David Yurman, John Varvatos, Mulberry, White House|Black Market, Zara Home, and more who are coming to Canada for the first time.
There are so many memories packed into the shopping centre that of course, Yorkdale is celebrating the big 5-0 with a bang! Tomorrow (February 26th), Yorkdale will unveil an exclusive portrait series shot by the iconic photographer and musician, Bryan Adams. The series focuses on Toronto’s top Style Makers including, Jeanne Beker, Suzanne Rogers, Cameron Bailey, The Beckerman Twins, Lucian Matis, and more. Shoppers will also be able to celebrate Yorkdale’s half-century birthday by shopping a special Gold Collection that features exclusive items from Michael Kors, Ted Baker London, Mac Cosmetics, Town Shoes, and Purdy’s Chocolatier, but that’s not all! Keeps your eyes peeled because as a homage to Yorkdale, Lucian Matis spent 85 hours hand-sewing a silk chiffon and french lace evening gown for the special campaign and the gown will be on display at Yorkdale’s Guest Services. If you’re not able to make it down to the iconic mall, then fret not! The CN tower will be lit gold the evening of February 26th to celebrate Yorkdale’s anniversary as well.
