At StyleDemocracy, every once in awhile we get a chance to take part in really cool experiences, and we can’t wait to let you in on the latest.

A few weeks ago in celebration of the return of Doritos Sonic Sour Cream (kind of tastes like Cool Ranch with a hint of onions and sour cream) the StyleDemocracy team was invited to record a music beat with music producing prodigy, WondaGurl who has worked with top hip-hop talent like Jay-z, Rihanna and Big Sean.

In one of the most interesting experiences we’ve ever taken part of, our Vice-President of Digital Grayson Miller sat down with WondaGurl line in-studio and created a unique musical composition using sounds created from actual Doritos chips.

“It was really cool! It’s always an amazing experience to work with someone as talented as WondaGurl” Grayson tells us. “ When I entered the space, Wonda was so inviting and immediately had some ideas on how we could get some really cool sounds out of the Doritos bag and actual chips. We started out by creating a bass drum beat with the bag of Doritos, and then moved on to creating almost a snare-like sound with a single Doritos chip crunching in my mouth…. It was truly a treat to see WondaGurl in action building a symphonic beat around two really basic sounds… It’s really cool to see someone at the top of their craft operate.”

We’ve always loved how Doritos sees their brand as something more than just corn chips. By aligning themselves with creative forces like WondaGurl, it allows you to see the brand vision and how being creative, having fun and enjoying the company of good people is what Doritos is about.
