About Second Harvest:
Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue charity, providing the essential service of rescuing fresh, perishable food to 373 social service organizations throughout Ontario. This nutritious food is provided to programs that serve after-school snacks to children, meals for women and families in shelters, nourishment for seniors on fixed incomes, and many more. Over 330,000 people are nourished by food from Second Harvest, as we continue to expand our partnerships with 742 food donors. Last year alone, we helped reduce unnecessary environmental damage by preventing 58 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions from entering our atmosphere. By reducing avoidable food waste, we help keep our planet and people healthy and strong.
