StyleDemocracy Pick: The Everglades Jacket by Mia Melon
Winter has finally arrived and I absolutely cannot handle the cold on my own! There is something special about a big puffy jacket for a blizzard, but my favourite transitional coat is definitely from Mia Melon.
For times when the poof or bomber just aren’t weather appropriate or you need something more lightweight and clean, Mia Melon coats are the best. My personal favourite is the “Everglades” in taupe but there are a ton of amazing options, including the Wanderer 2 and the Provocateur 2.
Designed in Vancouver, British Columbia and Portland, Oregon, a DWR coated cotton shell, polyester lining and special membrane bonded in-between fabrics makes each jacket waterproof, windproof, and stylish. I love that every Mia Melon jacket has unique technology to keep warm but style remains despite its element of function. I am always excited to see the new jackets being showcased by Mia Melon, and in fact, there is a way to pre-shop their newest jacket, the “Commuter,” at a discount through their Kickstarter campaign.
Another thing I love about Mia Melon is their fast shipping and great customer service. After receiving my coat I noticed the length was too long and within 12 hours, I had a response offering me a change. Being true to size, I love the fit of my Mia Melon jackets and I plan to buy more.
Happy shopping outerwear enthusiasts!
