Close sources suggest, and our friends at Retail-Insider are reporting that Jordan Brand will be opening up a free standing concept store in Toronto based off the success of the recently launched Jordan Brand store in Chicago. While there hasn’t been any official news released from Jordan, our sources along with the Retail-Insider article suggest that the new Jordan Store will follow a similar concept to the one executed in Chicago however, scope and size have not been discussed.

We believe that Nike along with Jordan brand will want to capitalize on the success of Nike’s Running program dubbed Nike Training Club which has a booming operation in Toronto and looks to inspire Nike athletes to “Just Do It”. Runners all over Toronto have flocked to the Nike Loft for running classes, support and community. With this in mind, there is a massive opportunity for Nike and Jordan brand to bring the Station 23 concept to the Toronto market.
Station 23 is currently located directly above the Chicago Jordan store and aims to train elite basketball athletes in the local community who are looking to take their game to the next level. The station 23 facility features top-end trainers and incorporates NBA level workout sessions. Not to mention the facility is stunning. A beautiful mix of digital and sports featuring interactive training stations, a basketball court and a premier strength and conditioning station. It would be awesome if Jordan decides to roll it out to encompass beginners and make it more of a community feel, but we will just have to wait and see.
Currently, there is no concrete info on when the store is coming, but when it does come to Toronto it will be a testing ground to see if the Jordan brand store concept can be rolled out nationally.
