Our Most Anticipated Shows at WMCFW
With World MasterCard Fashion Week starting today, the anticipation is building for another strong showing from our favourite Canadian designers. With all the hustle & bustle that comes with the week it can be easy to lose track & miss some truly great collections. This is where the Style Democracy team comes in. Here are the three designers you won’t want to miss.
Known for his achromatic collections & unpredictable tailoring, Sid Neigum has attracted a cult like following providing a truly fresh aesthetic. These past couple of seasons, Neigum has experimented with prints, florals & androgynous styles. We hope this is the season he tries the red hot metallic trend as the Sid Neigum DNA continues to develop.
Exemplifying the complex relationship between masculine and feminine, hard & soft, Beaufille, previously known as Chloe Comme Parris, extracts complementing elements for both aesthetics to create a sophisticated tough girl look. Incorporating hints of the 90’s grunge/rock n’ roll trend & 90’s art into their Fall/Winter 2013 collection, Beaufille has managed to find the soft spot that many girls have been lusting for. With such contrasting taste we can’t wait to see what sisters Chloe & Parris Gordon come up with this season!
A highlight among regulars at World MasterCard Fashion Week, Joe Fresh is a name that needs no introduction. While last season saw Joe Mimran capitalize on the 90’s grunge trend featuring monochromatic skirts, jackets & knitwear. We’re eager to see how he expands on the trends of the moment this season in fresh & innovative ways.
