The Selfie Hat Makes its Debut
Move over selfie stick, you’ve got some competition! Wearable tech has been blowing up as of late (hello, Apple iWatch,) but we’ve never seen anything like this before. Allow us to introduce you to the Selfie Hat – the limited edition, hard-to-miss, sparkly, bright pink hat that’s currently being sold for London Fashion Week.
The sparkly chapeau is actually a just a very, very large case that was made by designer Christian Cowan-Sanluis in collaboration with Acer (specifically Acer’s Iconia A1-840.) If the hat looks familiar, you may have seen it on Lady Gaga (sans Acer tablet) when she wore the Cowan-Sanluis original earlier this year for an interview in New York.
The Selfie Hat was created (for narcissists and) for optimal selfie taking. It is able to spin a full 360 degrees in order to get the best lighting and angle for the wearer. If the hat is just too over the top for you, then you could opt for the smaller (but still sparkly) non-wearable version of the selfie hat – it definitely looks a lot lighter and easier to carry.
Prices have yet to be confirmed, but we’re guessing the wearable tech accessory is pretty pricey – you need to book a private appointment with the designer himself in order to purchase.
