Stars team up to create personalized Canada Day jewellery
Home-grown actresses Lauren Lee Smith (The Listener), Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue) and Rachel Skarsten (Lost Girl) have teamed up with Canadian jewellery company Suetables to create a range of personalized Canada Day themed jewellery.
Suetables are best known for specializing in custom pendants and charms and have collaborated with the Canadian stars to create a jewellery line that is intended to show off and reflect each of the actresses’ personal interpretation of national pride. The range is intended to take being Canadian to a stylish new level and to create pieces that are classically patriotic. Sue Henderson, owner and designer of Suetables has also tied in the range of sterling silver Canada day-inspired jewellery to coincide with her company’s 10 year anniversary, adding even more weight to the range’s importance.
The stars created pieces that fused influences from their heritage, culture, family and youth. The result is 3 very beautiful pieces of jewellery that will add flair to any outfit, whether heading out for a night on the town, to a glamourous casino or staying in and playing games at a casino online and relaxing with friends.
Vancouver native, Lauren Lee opted to go the boho-chic route and created a woven macramé friendship bracelet with a central silver cut out maple leaf. The bracelet is available in red, white and black and Lauren says that ““This friendship bracelet is a great piece to remind yourself (or a friend) to remember home.”
5 time Gemini nominee Enuka’s striking contribution to the collaboration is an architectural x-shaped ‘kiss cuff’ that she says “is an expression of my love for Canada”. The cuff is intended to represent her passion for a country that celebrates all races and cultures, and the kiss represents her love for the freedom and acceptance that Canada offers.
Toronto-born Rachel opted for a simple yet stylish silver maple leaf charm that can be added to any bracelet or necklace. The Lost Girl actress likes to take a small piece of home with her wherever she goes too remind her of her roots, and created the charm for others to be able to do the same.
All 3 of the stars designs reflect what it means to them to be Canadian, and will be available at Suetables from the 1st of July, with 20% of every sale donated to Evergreen.
