If designer is your jam but you’re stuck with a fast fashion budget, then this will be music to your ears. H&M has just announced its first Chinese designer collaboration and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
Angel Chen is a Chinese designer who is known as one of the country’s young talents. She has worked with huge names in the fashion and entertainment world like Bella Hadid, Charli XCX, TF Boys, and Fan Bingbing.
“I am grateful and privileged to have this opportunity to work with H&M to launch its first Chinese designer collaboration collection,” Chen said in a release. “With the development of the global market, more Chinese designers are stepping on the international stage. And I hope that through this collaboration, more people will pay attention to Chinese designers, and also the Chinese culture and spirit behind their designs.”

All of H&M’s previous designer collabs have all been available at the retailers stores worldwide, however this collaboration will only launch in select stores and online in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Canada.

The 45-piece collection is heavily influenced by Angel’s design ethos which is East meets West. Expect to shop versatile pieces with Chinese design elements in bold, saturated colours like bubble gum pink and bright yellow.
Embroidery is also a theme here, with it being apparent on pieces like sweatshirts, hoodie dresses, and jackets. In addition, brushed calligraphy also makes an appearance in the collection with it being found on a denim boiler suit and a satin shirt.
