If you love chocolate, you’re in for a huge treat!
The first-ever North American KITKAT CHOCOLATORY is opening in Canada this month and we got a sneak peek inside before doors open on November 14, 2019.
Located in the same wing that houses Restoration Hardware and By Chloe, the KITKAT CHOCOLATORY is a place where you can put your own spin on the classic chocolate bar.
Featuring a Create Your Own station, there are over 2,000 flavour combinations for visitors to choose from to customize their own bars. Ingredients like potato chips, organic gummy bears, sprinkles, peanut butter chips, and so much more are added to dark, milk, or white chocolate KITKAT bars right before your eyes in the “open kitchen.”
The intimate, hands-on experience has KITKAT’s Head Chocolatier Christopher Neamtu walk you through a KITKAT bar’s entire journey — all the way from learning where the cocoa beans come from to pressing your handpicked ingredients into the bar you’ll eventually take home.
Seats for KITKAT CHOCOLATORY Toronto can be booked in-store or online at chocolatory.kitkat.ca.
In addition to the hands-on experience, there are ready-to-eat bars on the shelves to grab and go home with. Think flavours like Coffee and Donuts, Blueberry Streusel, Butter Tart, and the limited edition KITKAT GOLD.

Last year’s store offered shoppers the opportunity to create their own chocolate bars completely custom to their tastes. Visitors had the option to choose from three different types of chocolate and up to three toppings of 16 toppings ranging from roasted chopped pistachios and dried cranberries, to caramelized popcorn and rose petals.
The pop-up came outfitted with self-serve stations, and once the order was complete, customers could watch the KitKat chocolatiers behind plexiglass making their creations in the KitKat kitchen.

There are currently eight locations in Japan, and KitKat’s are some of the country’s best-selling treats.
Only time will tell if the KitKat Chocolatory will be as popular here as it is in Japan, but if the line-ups from the last Toronto pop-up are anything like the ones to come, we’re sure this won’t be the last Canadian KitKat Chocolatory to open.
