Toronto, we’ve been greeted with our freezing rain storm of the season. If that isn’t a memo to have some winter boots on standby, we don’t know what is! Although winter doesn’t technically start until later in December, we tend to get an early glimpse here. We can probably all relate to the dread of putting away our chic fall boots for winter ones, as the practical nature of a winter boot can make them well… not so cute. But thankfully, that doesn’t always have to be the case! If you know where to look, you can find winter boots that are both practical and cute, allowing you to strut through the streets of Toronto, even during a blizzard, without sacrificing your style.

These boots are equally cute and practical!

Just in time for winter, Montreal-based fashion retailer Pajar, known for its shoes and high-quality winter jackets, has opened its first-ever retail store in Yorkdale Shopping centre. The new store is located right next to the luxury watch brand Breitling and spans about 1,340 square foot.

In the store, you’ll find some product exclusives that will “reflect the brand’s DNA” according to Michel Golbert, Vice President of Pajar. And of course, you can experience footwear, winter jackets and accessories first-hand.

For all sports lovers out there, the store features Pajar Sport collection, which includes urban performance and casual street wear. All products are made in Italy, Portugal, and Asia.

“The collection combines seam-sealed premium waterproof leather and textile uppers comfort rated to -30 C. The Oslo Apres Ski Collection, handcrafted in Italy, features genuine fur uppers including Fox, Rabbit, and Goat fur along with the hydro-repellent leathers, and seam-sealed construction,” reports Retail-Insider.

Our friends at popular Montreal-based brand Pajar are looking to open its first two standalone stores this fall as the brand expands its operations to focus on a direct-to-consumer model.

Pajar is known for their high-quality boots and winter gear and is looking to use the two new standalone stores as a compliment to Pajar’s wholesale network.

Pajar rose to fame in the late 1980’s as their innovative “Zig-Zag” boot became the official book of the Canadian Alpine Ski team. TO this day the Pajar Canada Heritage Premium collection is manufactured in the same factory that founder Paul Golbert opened in Montreal in 1973.  The popular boot’s design is carried out in many of Pajar’s current boots featuring 100% genuine sheepskin and are guaranteed to keep you warm in temperatures as low as -40°C, according to the company. If you shopped in our online shop earlier this year you were also introduced to Pajar’s extensive line of high-quality winter jackets.  As quality is of paramount concern to Pajar, the winter jackets that espouse Canadiana are also made to the highest degree of attention to detail and quality.

According to Retail-Insider, the new stores will be located at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, with the second location popping up at Premium Outlets Montreal in Mirabel.  The new Yorkdale location will space 1,340 square feet and will be housed in the former Nine-West location and will face stiff competition from outwear brands Canada Goose, Arc’teryx, Woolrich and retailers Sporting Life, Aritizia and Harry Rosen.

The new stores will act as a testing ground for Pajar’s new vision, and if successful will see the launch of permanent retail spaces.
