You may have to wait for the weather to catch up to the season to start indulging in spring fashion, but you can always start playing around with this season’s makeup and hair trends! Every season we see a switch in the popular makeup and hairstyles, and while you don’t have to follow them, it can be a fun excuse to branch out of your comfort zone and try something new! The transition from winter to spring is a dramatic one, and it reflects in the trends. Say goodbye to dark and dramatic and hello to light and airy.
Here are some of the best hair and makeup trends to have on your radar this spring!
Un-styled Hair
Or we should say, hair that looks unstyled. It’s like no-makeup makeup except for hair. This season it’s all about embracing your natural hair and ditching the hot tools more often for products that help your hair thrive in its natural state. The Claw Clip
Tying in with a re-occurring spring theme of effortlessness – is claw clip hairstyles. There are surprisingly a lot of ways you can wear a claw clip, however, one of the most popular ways is just gathering all your hair to the back and clipping, even if it’s a little messy. It adds to the look. Claw clips have come a long way since the 90s when they had their original moment, now you can find them in all shapes, sizes, styles, and even some that are virtually indestructible (as you may have seen on TikTok).
Bobs
The haircut of the season seems to be the bob. If you’re looking to take some weight off of your hair, there’s no better time than right before the heat kicks in! That being said, hair length trends tend to go in and out, so think hard before you go and chop your hair off, especially if your hair tends to take a while to grow! Maybe start with a couple of inches and work your way up.
Volume
For the moments when we’re not being so effortless, volume comes into play! Lifted Brows

Some people who have a heavier arch are literally shaving off the end of their brows to extend their brows in a more lifted manner, lifting the appearance of their face along with it. If you’re not down to shave off half of your eyebrow, feathery brows brushed upwards is another alternative.
Blush
If we had to choose one makeup product to keep in our collection this season, it would probably be blush. After all, it can be used as eyeshadow and lipstick, too! Dewy
This one should come as no surprise as dewy skin and makeup is always a preferred choice come spring and summer. But, this spring we’re taking it up a notch. Shimmery Lids

The spring shoe season is a fun one. You can still get away with wearing boots if you want, but it’s also very much acceptable to wear flats and even sandals if the weather permits. It’s one of the most versatile times of the year when it comes to footwear! That being said – there are some top shoe trends that will dominate during the 2023 spring season, and may we say, we’re super stoked to start seeing them on the streets! We’ve rounded up some of the most prominent footwear trends to help get your shoe rack ready for spring!

Ballet Flats
You have yet to see the end of the ballet flats shoe trend! This spring ballet flats are going to be amongst some of the most-worn shoes, in all kinds of variations. In our opinion – the more they look like actual pointe shoes, the better.
Mary Janes
From heels to flats, we’ll be seeing a ton of Mary Jane shoes this season. Mary Janes are essentially low-cut shoes with a strap (or straps) towards the top. A shoe that was once most commonly worn by children, has been reinvented in a variety of styles from girly to grunge. Not to mention, they’re perfect for transitioning into spring, as there is still some coverage and can be layered with socks, too!

Loafers are another shoe that is here to stay for spring. They’re versatile shoes to style, great for going to work but also can be styled-up chic for the weekend. They also come in a variety of styles ranging from sleek and classic to chunky and modern. They definitely give off an academia/old-money vibe that can be super fun to play into!

If you just got war flashbacks to back when wedges were popular in the past, don’t stress too hard. The thing about fashion and style is that trends always come back, and when they do, there’s always a modern twist. It’s true – wedges are back, but in a chicer way than ever before.
Pointed Toes
Although we aren’t saying goodbye completely to square-toed – it’s time to say hello again to pointed-toe shoes! All over the recent fashion weeks, we saw pointed-toe pumps everywhere we looked. As much as these shoes tend to be a little less cozy than round or square toes, you can’t deny they’re a whole lot more flattering! Pointed pumps will seemingly be the shoe of choice for fancier outings and events.
Decorations
Just as appliques, jewels, studs, and other “decorations” have been being spotted more and more within the fashion world recently, we’re about to see a surge of that make its way to shoes and accessories too! This particular trend would even be great to attempt DIY-ing for your own personal twist.
Sporty Sneakers
Sneakers always make a comeback come springtime, and although classic white sneakers never really go out of style, this spring it’s all about sporty sneakers or as some call them – “dad” sneakers. Not only is this shoe trend super comfortable, but it also goes with pretty much any outfit.
Comfort First
As all of the above shoe trends have a time and place to shine, comfort will trump all when it comes down to day-to-day wear. People are stepping outside more as the weather gets nicer, and are traditionally on their feet for longer periods of time. And who wants to compromise their comfort? Spring is quickly approaching, and we all know what that means. It’s almost time for the closet switchover from winter to spring. Goodbye heavy knits and puffer coats, hello rain jackets and breathable tops! Every year around this time, I like to do some thrifting before I hit the mall in an attempt to replenish my spring wardrobe. I always thrift first, and if all else fails I can do the rest of my spring shopping elsewhere.
I went into my local Value Village to try and find some 2023 Spring trends… here’s how it went!
First up, I found a navy-check rain jacket. It was super lightweight and I loved that it had a waistband to cinch it in a bit. Everyone needs a rain jacket come springtime, and this one was such a cute find!
Next, you can’t really tell in the picture, but I promise this is a sheer top! I’m almost positive you’ve heard by now, sheer is going to remain to be a huge trend this year. I think this particular one would be cute styled with a pair of great-fitting jeans.
I never leave the thrift without checking the men’s section first. Cargo pants are another major trend this year and the men’s section is the best place to find them while thrifting! These ones were definitely not my size, but I still wanted to showcase them to show that you can find precious cargo (lol) at the thrift.
You may just need to use your imagination for this one, okay? Cinched and tailored blazers were seen all over fashion week, so naturally, I was on a hunt for one at the thrift. I’ll admit, this one wasn’t totally the vibe I was going for, however, I did like its synching details. I could just do without those particular lapels.
I so wish this piece was my size. Metallics are another big spring trend this year and this jacket is serving! I loved the side-detailing, too.
You have to check your local thrift store before buying a new long skirt from anywhere else. Long skirts have been going in and out of style for a long time, so of course some have been donated along the way. This one doesn’t look so great just on the hanger, but I can totally picture it being styled super trendy and cute.
Lastly, I had to check out the shoes. I’ve been seeing a ton of pointed heels poking out of long pants, so I thought the shoes to the right would be perfect for achieving that look. The shoes to the left are a silver-lovers dream. We all know by know that silver is super in and isn’t going away anytime soon.
