When it comes to shopping for a new season, you’ll likely have to visit multiple stores in order to curate a perfect selection suited to your style and needs. The odds are, you won’t be able to walk into one shop and completely update your wardrobe in that visit, nor should you want to! Different brands specialize in different items, and having a great roster of stores to visit on rotation allows you to explore your personal style more and shop the best from all categories. In honour of the new spring season, we decided to take a trip to the mall (Square One, if you were curious), to find the best of spring fashion. From wardrobe basics to trendy accessories, here’s where we shopped…

Here’s where we went shopping for spring!

Lululemon For Tenniscore

Tenniscore is a huge spring fashion trend this year! Even Zendaya is on board, taking Tenniscore to a whole new level while promoting her new movie, Challengers. While visiting various stores at the mall, we noticed a ton of tennis-inspired apparel, from pleated skirts to collared shirts, and Lululemon did it best (in our opinion). Since Lulu specializes in activewear, its tennis-related items were not only cute but also made for performance! Why not get a tennis skirt you can actually play tennis in, after all?

Old Navy For Spring Prints

If you’re looking to get your hands on some fresh spring prints on a budget, Old Navy has you covered! From pretty floral dresses to colourful tops, we saw a variety of spring-inspired prints and colours while browsing its racks.

Mango For Event Wear

Mango has been absolutely killing it lately, constantly providing luxe-looking apparel at a relatively accessible price point. Its pieces aren’t super affordable by any means, but in terms of special event wear, we think it has some great options! We’ll be keeping these pretty pink dresses on standby for wedding season.

Levi’s For Denim

You really can’t go wrong with a fresh pair of jeans from Levi’s! We’re investing in some lighter denim washes for the spring season, so of course, we had to check out Levi’s. Shopping for jeans can be a tricky business. You can find them for cheap and cross your fingers that they’ll hold up, or invest in a luxury pair and hope you never ruin them or change sizes. Levi’s is in that sweet spot in the middle, providing high-quality denim at a fair price.

Uniqlo For Spring Basics

When it comes to spring basics, we’re getting it all at Uniqlo! The store is practically dedicated to wardrobe staples if you ask us. We saw a variety of t-shirts, linen button-ups, trousers, tanks, and so much more while shopping its extensive selection.

Aritzia For Cozy Sweats

You may have noticed by now, but sweat sets are having a major moment, and Aritzia approves. Aritizia’s Sweatfleece line proves that sweats can, in fact, look chic. We may just need a set in every colour to get us through the spring season in ultimate comfort.

Dynamite For Going Out Tops

We don’t care what anyone says. Going out tops will always be in style. Whenever we have a night out on the horizon, you can bet we’re giving Dynamite a visit. It always has plenty of tops worthy of styling to go out on the town. It even has a category specifically called “Going Out Tops.”

Urban Outfitters For Festival Fashion

Festival season is here! Whether you have a festival coming up or simply love the boho aesthetic, Urban Outfitters is the place to shop. While at UO, we saw a wide variety of trendy boho styles, from crochet knits to long flowy skirts to fun accessories and so much more.

Frank & Oak For Stylish Workwear

Workwear doesn’t have to be boring, especially if you shop at Frank & Oak. The store was full of stylish options that could easily be appropriate for the office and then even drinks afterward. It’s giving quiet luxury minus the luxury price tag!

Ever New For Spring Dresses

If you’ve yet to step foot into Ever New, now is the time! We were so impressed with its selection of spring and summer dresses! They made us feel like we were on our way to the Hamptons. Whether you have an event coming up or are on the hunt for a trusty spring dress to have on rotation, Ever New is worth a visit.

Simons For Trendy Accessories

Let’s be real; there isn’t a whole lot that you wouldn’t be able to find at Simons. The place is huge and carries a vast variety of brands! That being said, one of our favourite sections in the entire store is where the accessories can be found. Simons always has a ton of on-trend and classic accessories to shop under its own house name as well as other brands. From hair clips to statement earrings to bags, we shopped it all.

Suit up! Business casual is back. With brands like Reformation and Aritzia recently launching all kinds of new business attire, it’s safe to say that this trend has officially arrived in full force. From matching suit sets to baggy trousers, the styling possibilities are endless when it comes to the business casual trend.

Preppy

Channel your inner Gossip Girl this season and embrace the preppy fashion aesthetic. You can go full-out by ‘uniform’ dressing head-to-toe, or you can simply incorporate preppiness into your outfit with a collared shirt or a pleated skirt

Sporty

Close friends with the preppy fashion trend is the sporty fashion trend – similar concept, slightly different result. From track pants to jerseys, there are so many ways to play around with the sporty trend. We personally love the contrast of adding something sporty to an otherwise feminine outfit.

Flowers

We know… florals for spring… groundbreaking. Jokes aside, flower details in all forms are uber popular right now and can’t be ignored. From rose appliques to floral prints, we are aiming to look like walking gardens this spring.

Fringe

A post shared by Nasty Gal (@nastygal)

The time for fringe, is now – and we’re not talking about the haircut. Fringe in all shapes and sizes have been everywhere lately. Sparkly tinsel fringe bombers (think Taylor Swift) to classic Western-inspired fringe suede jackets (think JLo) all the way to sparkly bedazzled fringe on dresses at award shows (think Miley Cyrus). Fringe refuses to be ignored this spring.

Shorts

Get ready to show some leg, the shorter the better when it comes to shorts this spring! You can ease yourself into the trend by wearing a baggier style, or even styling the shorts with tights for extra warmth and coverage.

Large Bags

Oversized bags are the ‘it’ style of the season! If it can’t fit your laptop, current read, makeup bag, and most importantly, snacks, we don’t want it. Leather and suede tote bags, in particular, provide an elevated look to any outfit.

Draping

A post shared by LOEWE (@loewe)

If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a romantic goddess, this is the trend for you. Draped details such as ruching, gathering, and perfectly flowing fabrics have been growing in popularity at immense speed. We love this trend for making an outfit feel more dressed up and feminine. You can incorporate the draping trend easily with a draped top or try it out on your next dressy occasion with a beautifully draped dress

Icy Blue

Icy blue seems to be the upcoming colour of the season and we are so here for it. The colour provides the freshness we’ve been longing for after a gloomy and grey winter. Plus, icy blue is just hues away from white, which always shines bright in the spring season.

The birds are chirping, and flowers are beginning to bloom; in other words, spring is near. It’s finally time to put away your winter boots and transfer your focus to spring styles! Spring seems to be the most flexible season in terms of shoes, making it all the more exciting. After extensive research (reading magazines and admiring fashion show looks), we’ve compiled a list of the top shoe trends that are set to dominate this spring.

Mesh Flats

This controversial shoe trend is on track to take over this spring! At first glance, they seem a tad intimidating, but after seeing so many great outfits paired with some version of the mesh flat (fishnet, embellished, plain), we’re officially on board.

Kitten Heels

Practicality and comfort continue to be a primary focus when it comes to footwear this spring. As much as we all love a high-heel moment, we prefer a shoe we can actually walk in, and kitten heels do the job perfectly. They give a look of sophistication without the pain.

Mary Janes

The Mary Jane shoe trend is one that constantly comes back. Over the past few years, they’ve been especially prominent. Mary Jane heels, flats, and loafers all have a place in our shoe collection this spring!

Loafers

Loafers provide a smart and refined look, working alongside the ever-popular quiet luxury trend. Like Mary Janes, they’re also super classic, making them worth investing in (in our opinion).

Platforms

Platforms, specifically on flat shoe styles (some refer to them as flatforms), are predicted to be major this spring. They add drama and height yet are still relatively comfortable to wear. Gucci is a notable designer behind the trend.

Embellished

From bows to studs to fringe, embellished shoes are having a moment! You can shop the trend by buying already embellished shoes, or you can even embellish them yourself if you’re feeling creative.

Flip Flops

Shoes that don’t provide a lot of coverage, in general, including flip flips, seem to be a trending concept in spring footwear right now! From casual beach-like flip flops to The Row’s iconic chunky leather version, you can’t go wrong adding a new pair of flip flops to your collection.

Ballet Flats

Listen, we won’t harp on about ballet flats because, by now, you’ve heard it all. But we do just want to say that the cult-favourite shoe style isn’t going away anytime soon!

As we go from winter into spring, there’s obviously quite the switch in fashion. It’s arguably the most dramatic style transition of the year! Clothing goes from dark and heavy to light and airy, in the blink of an eye. It’s such an inspiring time of year to play around with fashion and experiment with different style trends, as everything feels so fresh! There are a lot of fashion trends to look forward to this year, that are definitely more groundbreaking than florals for spring (iykyk)!

Cargo

Cargo isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, it seems! This spring, we’ll likely see more of a transition from thick, cargo pants to cargo skirts, and cargo pants made with lightweight, breathable fabrics – adding a feminine flare to the trend.

Long Denim Skirts

We’ve already been seeing the long denim skirt trend make its way into the style scene, worn over recent fashion weeks. This will be a popular choice for many in the spring as it still provides some warmth on the more chilly days but also gives off a fresh, springy vibe.

Soccer Sneakers

Soccer Sneakers, like Adidas Sambas, will take spring by storm as people ditch heavy boots for comfortable yet sleek white sneakers. The problem? Adidas Sambas and even the Gazelles are hard to come by right now in a lot of sizes as they are just that popular.

Cinched Blazers

In the recent past, oversized blazers were the moment. However, this spring, it’s been predicted that cinched blazers are making a comeback! Could this mean the return of business casual to the club?

Metallics

A post shared by Maria Helena Bordon Meireles (@helenabordon)

Did you think metallics were going to stay in the winter? This spring trend is one we’re super excited about since metallics are typically not seen much past fall and winter. It looks like this spring we’ll be graced with a little extra shine and sparkle on the streets!

Open-Knit Sweaters

A post shared by ZARA Official (@zara)

Spring isn’t quite warm enough to ditch sweaters entirely, yet those heavy knits can be a little too toasty. So, naturally every spring we see different renditions of loose-knit sweaters like open-knits, crochets, cob-web knits, etc. This year, we’re expecting to see a lot of extremely lightweight open knits that are super breathable and great for layering.

Ballet Flats

This isn’t anything new, we’re aware, but ballet flats are going to be huge this spring, maybe even more so than last! There’s almost a literal approach to this trend. The more the shoes resemble actual pointe shoes, the better.

Cyber Prints

Cyber prints, or what could also be described as colourful, blurred prints, are going to be seen on all kinds of garments this spring including dresses, tops, and skirts. This trend is most popular amongst mesh fabrics, giving it a really cyber and futuristic look.

Sheer

Another trend that isn’t going away anytime soon is sheer and transparent garments. Everywhere we look, this fashion trend seems to make an appearance. This spring we think we’ll be seeing more of a feminine touch to the trend though, with ruffles and lace for instance.

Large Bags

The Olsen twins would be proud of this one. It’s time to ditch the mini bags for large and in-charge ones that will fit everything you could possibly need to carry with you and have room to spare. Whether you’re dressing for the office or out for dinner, a large bag is the move.

Floral Appliques

A post shared by Nitsan Raiter Fluxgold (@nitsanraiter)

Every year, florals are a huge part of spring fashion. This year, however, it’s about more than just a floral print. Floral appliques/rosettes are making a huge comeback, and we’re kind of here for it.

Spring is quickly approaching, and we all know what that means. It’s almost time for the closet switchover from winter to spring. Goodbye heavy knits and puffer coats, hello rain jackets and breathable tops! Every year around this time, I like to do some thrifting before I hit the mall in an attempt to replenish my spring wardrobe. I always thrift first, and if all else fails I can do the rest of my spring shopping elsewhere.

First up, I found a navy-check rain jacket. It was super lightweight and I loved that it had a waistband to cinch it in a bit. Everyone needs a rain jacket come springtime, and this one was such a cute find!

Next, you can’t really tell in the picture, but I promise this is a sheer top! I’m almost positive you’ve heard by now, sheer is going to remain to be a huge trend this year. I think this particular one would be cute styled with a pair of great-fitting jeans.

I never leave the thrift without checking the men’s section first. Cargo pants are another major trend this year and the men’s section is the best place to find them while thrifting! These ones were definitely not my size, but I still wanted to showcase them to show that you can find precious cargo (lol) at the thrift.

You may just need to use your imagination for this one, okay? Cinched and tailored blazers were seen all over fashion week, so naturally, I was on a hunt for one at the thrift. I’ll admit, this one wasn’t totally the vibe I was going for, however, I did like its synching details. I could just do without those particular lapels.

I so wish this piece was my size. Metallics are another big spring trend this year and this jacket is serving! I loved the side-detailing, too.

You have to check your local thrift store before buying a new long skirt from anywhere else. Long skirts have been going in and out of style for a long time, so of course some have been donated along the way. This one doesn’t look so great just on the hanger, but I can totally picture it being styled super trendy and cute.

Lastly, I had to check out the shoes. I’ve been seeing a ton of pointed heels poking out of long pants, so I thought the shoes to the right would be perfect for achieving that look. The shoes to the left are a silver-lovers dream. We all know by know that silver is super in and isn’t going away anytime soon.
