Tech sources are reporting that Apple’s new laptop lineup will feature a new lower-cost 13″ MacBook. This is great news for shoppers who have been looking to get their hands on a MacBook but have been wary about the $1,600 and up price tag. According to DigiTimes, the lower cost MacBook will feature a 13″ retina display currently only available on the MacBook Pro.
Apple has always been a brand that flirts with luxury levels. While their products are utilitarian in nature, their price often excludes the everyday user from using their computer products. With their new price point, Apple will try to bring in more customers who are want to buy into the brand but have previously found the brand accessible.
The new MacBook will retail for around $900 and is expected to launch sometime in June.
