Everyone turns into a chemist at Toronto’s newest do-it-yourself bubble tea cafe. At Labothéry, you can completely DIY your bubble tea in lab-themed items!

Instructions for choosing ingredients are written on a wall making it clear to anyone who comes by for their own personalized drink. You start with grabbing a tray, picking a hot or cold drink, choose your ingredients based on milk tea, slush, or fresh tea, add your desired amount of sugar and dairy, then top it off with toppings.

“We believe in giving you, the customer, full control of how you want your drinks to be made, not only in terms of ice or sugar level, but every component of the drink altogether,” Labothéry writes on their website.

Powdered flavours range from fruits like banana or blueberry, sesame, taro, matcha, white chocolate, original and more. Liquid flavours include rose, maple syrup, lychee, peach, and more. Toppings include tapioca, honey pearl, passion fruit pearl, and aloe vera. They also have a variety of different milk options including soy milk to add to your bubble tea.

“It was a cool spin to the normal bubble tea cafe because it’s fun to see all the elements that go into your bubble tea,” says Serena Lalani, a customer at Labothéry.

The cost comes to a couple dollars more expensive than a regular bubble tea cafe but for the experience, it is completely worth it.
