Summer is nearing an end, which means the crisp and cool weather of the fall season is upon us! Fall has to be our favourite season in terms of fashion. There’s just so much more freedom to dress however you want, without super hot or cold weather conditions holding you back. If you’re as excited for fall fashion as we are, you’ve probably already started saving autumnal outfit pics on Pinterest and building your shopping carts from your favourite stores. If you’re looking for additional inspiration and want to be up-to-date on the hottest fashion trends for fall before you click “check out”, we’ve got you covered.
Here are the fall fashion trends you should have on your radar
Peplum
The peplum hem tends to be a controversial silhouette. You either love it or you hate it. But, if you have terrible flashbacks from peplum tops from the 2010s – don’t worry, it’s come back in a different way! Now the peplum tops, dresses, and jackets that are trending feature more of a relaxed and feminine flare (literally), emphasizing the waistline in an interesting and flattering way. Unlike the harsh peplums from the past that just look like a circle skirt sewn onto a t-shirt.
The Colour Red
If you love a pop of colour, you’ll be happy to know that red is said to be the colour of the season! From full monochromatic red moments, to simple pops of red in the way of shoes or other accessories, it’s all on trend this fall! You can opt to wear bright cherry reds or go for more subtle burgundies if that’s more your thing.
Long Skirts
Midi and maxi skirts have been have been trending all summer and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon! Specifally, long and relaxed circle skirts seem to be the style of choice for this fall. Style with an oversized sweater with sneakers or statement boots!
Off-The-Shoulder
At the moment, strapless and tube tops are being seen on virtually everyone, and the fall version of that is off-the-shoulder tops! They provide more warmth than a sleeveless top, thanks to their… well, sleeves – while still embracing the essence of the trend. One-shoulder tops are also super relevant if you’re looking for something a little more on the fun and trendy side!
Butter Yellow
If red isn’t your thing, try butter yellow! Butter yellow is the more neutral colour of the season, and we are so here for it. It’s as easy to style as beige is, yet adds a slight pop of colour. The perfect non-neutral, neutral. If that makes sense.
Statement Boots
One of the best fall fashion trends of the season is statement boots! Whether it be a chunky pair of combat boots, knee-high snakeskin boots, or a great pair of pointed-toes, any and every kind of statement boot is on-trend to wear and style this fall! We love the look paired with skirts and dresses, or even peaking out while wearing an oversized pair of jeans. You just can’t go wrong!
Lace
Lace in all forms has been popping up everywhere lately! From lace pants to lace trim details, we love it all. It ties in with the sheer trend we’ve been seeing season after season, in a fresh way.
Polka Dots
Never underestimate the power of polka dots! The print that will never fully leave us is having a major comeback this fall. The best part about styling polka dots is that the print pretty much goes with anything, colour-wise. Whether you’re a neutral girly or prefer a more maximal look, polka dots can really be styled to go with any vibe.
