The Financial Post is reporting that Loblaw Companies have recently announced that some of its President’s Choice beer will sell for a loonie for a limited time to give celebration to the revival of buck-a-beer in Ontario.
If you haven’t heard, Premier Doug Ford Lowered the minimum price of a bottle of beer set at $1.25 to $1.00.
The Loblaws promotion is only effective on PC branded beer and begins Aug.27 at the Beer Store, where a selection of PC beer will sell for 13.20 for a dozen or 26.40 for a 24 pack. It’s not exactly a buck-a-beer because there is a deposit fee.
The PC promotion currently has no end date, so if you’re interested in capitalizing on the offer of cheap beer now is the time to head to your local beer store. It should be noted though that many of Ontario’s craft beer brewers are against the new minimum citing that there is no effective way to maintain quality with a drop in price to a $1.00.
