After 42 Years, Iconic Retailer Over The Rainbow Announces They Will be Moving
Founded in 1975 by Joel Carman, Over The Rainbow has become one of Canada’s premier independent shopping destinations, and is recognized as Canada’s largest independent speciality store for premium denim.
For over 42 years the Carman family has been providing Toronto shoppers with expertise fashion knowledge, the best in classic and current jean styles and a commitment to providing superior customer service in an ever-evolving retail landscape.
With major redevelopment coming to Yorkville avenue, it was time for Over The Rainbow to announce their magnificent plans to expand their Yorkville presence with the introduction of a new flagship store in the soon-to-be transformed Manulife Centre. Located at Bay and Bloor the new and improved store will feature innovative retail design and will continue to provide a world-class customer experience to Over The Rainbow’s long lasting and loyal customer base.
The new store is slated for completion in late 2018 and will surely become a new go-to destination for denim aficionados across the city.
We’re excited for the new store and happy to see a great retail family and tradition continue in the city. Mr Joel Carman explained the new space the best stating:
“This new store has been in the making for many years! We are so excited to finally reveal our plans, and we can’t wait to deliver a bigger, modern space for our customers, in what we view to be a crown jewel of a building in the Bloor-Yorkville area. We believe the dynamic redevelopment plans to Manulife Centre complement our store’s vision for the future. Not to mention being surrounded by great retailers in the building and having direct access to the subway and underground parking facilities. We believe the new store will be a home run for our customers while allowing us to deliver the same comfortable and friendly experience that comes with shopping at Over the Rainbow! It’s an exciting time for our family business!”
