Our friends at Retail-Insider are reporting that Nordstrom has announced the opening of the first three Canadian Nordstrom Rack stores. If you haven’t heard of Nordstrom Rack, it’s the off-price “outlet” extension of the Nordstrom brand. According to Retail-Insider, there could be as many as 15 Nordstrom rack locations over the next few years. The first three Canadian stores will open in spring 2018, following by several openings in fall 2018.
The first Nordstrom Rack will open March 22, 2018 at Vaughan Mills just outside of Toronto. According to Retail-Insider, the first store will be 35,000 + square feet and will be located across Nike Factory Store. There will be two Nordstrom locations in the GTA, with the second location popping up on May 3, 2018 in Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville area. Finally, the last location out of the initial three will be open on April 26, 2018; Nordstrom Rack will open its second Canadian store at Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary.
Again, according to Retail Insider, the Yonge-Bloor Nordstrom Rack will be located at the base of the One Bloor Street East that includes a 76-storey condominium tower above, with a Mark McEwan grocery store, which Retail-Insider confirmed to be a new tenant for 18,000 square feet of the podium shared by Nordstrom Rack (McEwan opens towards the end of 2018).
If the Nordstrom Rack stores are anything like the Nordstrom Warehouse Sales, we can’t wait to start shopping!
