We all know someone who is impossible to shop for. It might be your parent, sibling, significant other, or it could even be you. If you’re in search for some holiday gifts that are a little more personal than cash or a regular old gift card, then a beauty gift set might be just the ticket. Whether you’re looking to give the gift of skincare, fragrances, makeup, or haircare, there’s a beauty gift set out there that’s bound to make your loved one happy. Not only that, but it’s a great way for them to try new products from brands that you know they love, and as the purchaser, the value is pretty great, too!

The fall and winter seasons are notorious for being beautiful, cozy, and dehydrating for our skin. In addition to it being absolutely freakin’ freezing, these icy winds wreak absolute havoc on our skin and hair. It’s not only important to keep ourselves hydrated by obviously drinking water, but slathering on hydrating beauty products has never been so crucial.
Now don’t read this and start slathering on all the moisturizer. Keeping your skin and hair hydrated starts on the inside. Really make sure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day. Not only that, but make sure you chug a large glass full first thing in the morning. If you think about it, that’s a whole 8 hours that you didn’t drink anything. For my fellow caffeine addicts — don’t worry, you’ll still get your espresso — just after you down that glass of H20.

How I Made The Switch To A Low-Waste Skincare Routine
If you’re like me, then you hate packing with a pure passion. How could I be expected to know what beauty products while I travel? I detest packing and decision making in general, so I end up overpacking and bringing anything and everything I think I’ll need with me. Because I basically bring my whole beauty and skincare arsenal with me, I often have zero room left in my suitcase for clothes and shoes. If you can relate, and let’s be honest, I’m hoping that a few of you can, you probably need to switch over from bringing full-size products with you. Nowadays, there are so many of our fave mini beauty products that are perfect for travel.

Doing a full skincare routine on the plane is all the rage these days, and as ridiculous as it might seem, it’s actually a good idea. The air on planes is recycled and it’s known for being drying and stale. Combat the dehydration and slather on a quality moisturizer and there’s none better than Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. Because this product is a leave on mask, it rubs right in so the whole plane thankfully won’t know you’re wearing a face mask.

Whether you’re travelling by plane, train, or car, your skin will need a little revitalizing whilst you’re on your trip. Instead of lugging around a large heavy bottle of your fave fact mist, opt for a lighter version instead. The cult fave Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a brilliant way to freshen up after a long travel day.

Just because you’re on holiday, it doesn’t mean you can skimp on your skincare. Don’t go without a good exfoliation – just pack a mini version of your fave. My go-to is Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant and I’m thrilled it comes in a travel-friendly size because travelling can wreak absolute havoc on your skin

If you’re heading on a beach vacay, sweat, and sunscreen can result in lots of build up on your scalp, so packing Christophe Robin’s iconic scalp scrub is a great idea. This scalp exfoliator cleanses and soothes sensitive, flaky, and oily scalps.
Even if you’re bringing your whole beauty cabinet with you on your trip, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a multitasking product. Glossier’s Milk Jelly Cleanser can be used as a makeup remover when used on dry skin, or as a cleanser that cleans deep on wet skin. What’s even better is it’s cruely-free, vegan, dermatologist tested, and ophthalmologist tested so it’s safe to use around the eyes.

With baggage weight limitations in effect, it doesn’t make sense to waste space bringing your full size foundation in its heavy glass bottle. However, don’t think that I’m expecting you to travel without your essentials. It pays to buy a mini version of your go-to foundation and save it for travel days ahead. Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is a fave for a reason as it’s weightless and gives skin a gorgeous, radiant finish.

There’s something about travelling that just deflates your hair. If you need a bit of a pick me up in the haircare department, try a volumizing shampoo. This travel size shampoo from Rahua delivers noticable volume and body while nourishing strands with ingredients like omega-3s and rahua oil.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — I love a multitasking product. This eye gel from Volition Beauty is an eye cream and an under-eye primer that creates the perfect canvas for concealer. What’s super cool about this brand is that anyone can suggest a product to be made, all it needs is votes and once an idea has enough votes, it goes into production.
VIB Price: $58
Rouge Price: $55

Another multi use product that I’m super excited about is Dermalogica’s Prisma Protect Moisturizer that hydrates the skin and it also has SPF 30 to protect against UV rays, infrared light, and blue light. This wonder of a moisturizer converts visible light into increased skin luminosity for a truly natural glow.
VIB Price: $75
Rouge Price: $71
If I was asked what my holy grail beauty product is, it’s this lipstick by Marc Jacobs Beauty. The shade I go for time and time again is True (fun fact: it’s inspired by Margaret Trudeau!) This pinky-nude lippie is the perfect everyday shade and it seriously lasts all day through my many coffees, snacks, and green juices.
VIB Price: $35
Rouge Price: $33

As a skincare junkie, I live for a good sheet mask but I absolutely hate the ones that are over saturated with product that drips down my neck and onto my clothes. If this scenario sounds familiar, you might want to try these dry sheet masks from Charlotte Tilbury. You might look like you’re ready for Halloween once you have it on, but believe me, these masks are mega hydrating and will leave you absolutely glowing!
VIB Price: $90
Rouge Price: $84

Just because we’re more than halfway through August, it doesn’t mean summer is totally over. Summer is all about letting your hairs natural texture shine so put down your hair dryer and straightener and try Ouai’s Air Dry Foam. Created by hair guru Jen Atkin herself, this revolutionary product comes out as a foam and once worked through your tresses, creates perfect air-dried waves.
VIB Price: $31
Rouge Price: $29

If your ends are feeling the heat of summer and need a little extra love, a quick hair mask might be in order. Super rich and intensive, this mask by pro Christophe Robin has been a lifesaver for my hair. I had no idea that prickly pear seed oil is packed with antioxidants and works to protect hair from breakage and split ends for a smooth, soft, radiant finish.
VIB Price: $79
Rouge Price: $75

For anyone who doesn’t know, my fave flower in the whole world is Lily of the Valley, so when I tried this Miu Miu perfume, I was in total absolute heaven. This scent isn’t overpowering or overly feminine, but it’s soft and smells just so fresh and lovely.
VIB Price: $136
Rouge Price: $128
Instagram/@sttropezcanada
It’s no secret that we should be staying out of the sun, but if you’re needing to keep your summer glow, St. Tropez has your back with this bronzing mousse. This self-tanner is seriously so easy to use and won’t have you looking Oompa Loompa orange or streaky.
VIB Price: $46
Rouge Price: $44

Part of the new Green Tea Fitness Collection from OGX is this dry shampoo foam that is a revelation. If you’re sick of feeling like your dirty hair is getting dirtier from regular dry shampoo, I can’t recommend this baby enough. While most dry shampoos spray a grey residue, this one leaves almost no residue behind and my hair didn’t feel weighted down at all. Believe it or not, it actually felt and looked clean!
