Having a good skincare routine is something my mom engrained into my head from a young age. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been living a double cleanse life — albeit, it doesn’t work for everyone.

With that being said, the key players in my daily skincare routine — cleanser, micellar water, toner, serum, and moisturizer — are constantly rotating. Rarely do I find a product that I just can’t live without; I’m always exploring new products that work with my skin and my budget.

Recently, I found a face wash that I haven’t been able to stop raving about to my friends — and it’s only $18.

Not to mention, you can find it in pretty much every shopping mall.

The Body Shop’s Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Clay Wash is my new favourite cleanser for a number of different reasons, but the main reason is that it’s made my face incredibly soft. Coupled with my current favourite toner, MAY COOP Raw Sauce; and holy grail Belif True Cream Moisturizing Bomb, The Body Shop cleanser doesn’t leave my skin tight, dry, or dehydrated.

The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Clay Wash is also amazing at removing my makeup.

Typically after washing my face, the next step in my skincare routine is removing any excess makeup with a micellar water. And typically, the cotton pad that I use to do this ends up black and brown with leftover makeup and daily grime that my cleanser missed.

But since I started using the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Clay Wash, my cotton pads have stayed fairly true to its original colour, meaning that the cleanser is actually doing what its name says it does — removing the impurities from my face.

If you’re looking for a new facial cleanser, give The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Clay Wash a shot — you can find it at any The Body Shop store.

Washing your face at the end of everyday is crucial, regardless of if you wear a full face of makeup or just a swipe of mascara and lipstick. Ask any beauty and skincare aficionado and they’ll likely tell you that removing your makeup isn’t the same as washing your face. Yes, it’s a great first step but it’s not the only step.

If you’re guilty of this, you may be now in the market to buy a cleanser that won’t only help get all traces of makeup off your face — a face wipe can only do so much — but also address your skincare concerns like acne, redness, and dehydration. When looking to buy a new cleanser, obviously price plays an important part. Just because one might be expensive, it doesn’t mean it’s the best cleanser and it certainly doesn’t mean the cheapies are crap.
