Whether you can’t eat gluten due to celiac or gluten sensitivities or are staying away from it to feel better or lose weight, Toronto has plenty of gluten-free options to choose from. Impact Kitchen, the gluten-free restaurant with paleo and vegan options has opened its second location after the major success of their first. They serve an evolving and innovative menu of protein-packed power bowls, salads, brunch dishes, baked goods, and broths, as well as coffee, smoothies and wellness lattes.
Located in the King West community at the corner of Adelaide and Brant, and constructed by BUILD IT By Design, the new restaurant spans 3,700 square feet and will be open seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekdays, and featuring a brunch menu on weekends.
“Founded in 2015 by former personal trainer and nutrition expert, Josh Broun, and co-founder of M·A·C Cosmetics, Frank Toskan, Impact Kitchen was created with the mission to empower the Toronto community to choose healthier foods that supply the energy and drive they need to take on the rest of their day.”
They felt expanding to the west side was a natural progression after sales continued to grow. “Together with an in-house nutritionist, Impact Kitchen’s chef and kitchen team create a continually evolving menu that remains ahead of the curve in food and beverage trends.”
Understanding the importance of supporting not only the well-being of the community but the environment as well, Impact Kitchen places a premium on sustainability.
High-quality ingredients are sourced from local farmers, customers are rewarded with a discount for bringing their own reusable hot beverage containers, and a waste station is sorted by recycling and organics bins.
To-go products including cutlery, bowls and plant-based straws are all compostable and hot beverage lids are recyclable. In the coming months, Impact Kitchen will continue to add more items made with sustainable materials. Impact Kitchen will also be expanding into the catering business, “with the mission of providing better quality food to businesses that prioritize the well-being of their employees, clients, and event guests.”
