It’s that time of year again, time to welcome back our boys in blue! Subdue your anticipation for the home opener tomorrow night or show your support throughout the month by visiting Steam Whistle’s brand new “Bleeding Blue” exhibit.
The brewery has teamed up with artist Samara Shuter to showcase an awesome collection of abstract paintings featuring our iconic Toronto Blue Jays players. The series was first showcased at the Roger’s Centre’s Luxury Summit Lounge in support of the Jays Care foundation and her bold art pieces have also been seen at esteemed sites such as the Rockefeller Centre and the Bronx Museum of Arts
Shuter was quoted as saying. “I’ve always been attracted to iconic items that imply a powerful presence and intriguing persona. The architecture and line work in the design of suits and uniforms is complex, and an interesting place from which to explore different artistic modes and themes, such as power or societal pressure.”
Take a look at some of the Bleeding Blue art pieces below:
The Bleeding Blue collection by Samara Shuter will be available for viewing at the SteamWhistle Brewing Roundhouse gallery from now until April 30. So let’s get in the spirit and help cheer our boys on!

But lucky for you, the city has a ton of FREE events happening this month so you can still get out enjoy yourself, bill-free and stress-free. Get your ass in gear and get ready to pound the pavement. The Queen Street Lululemon crew is back for another run on April 10. The 6 km run is free to join and will be happening rain or shine. Think 6 km sounds intimidating? FYI: running with a crew is easier than running alone. Your new pals will help you get through it. Learn more here.

It’s bat flip season – you know the drill! Welcome back our boys in blue during the Home Opener at Steam Whistle on April 11. The event will include a batting cage, human-sized beer pong, live tunes and game day specials. While the beer may not be free, it sure beats paying double for an overly-priced tall can from a seat in the Rogers Centre that’s far, far away. Plus did we mention there’s no cover?

BYOB (B stands for basket not beer).
Adult life is hard and has many, many bills to pay but that’s okay because on April 20 you can drop the act and pretend you’re a kid again at Board Games Night at The Station co-working space. Fanatics and newbies are welcome to come join other creatives in a night of laughs, snacks and a variety of games. May the best man win!
