The main trailer for the major-hyped moved Crazy Rich Asians has just been released.
The film stars Michelle Yeoh, Constance Wu and Henry Golding and is based on the romantic comedy book by Kevin Kwan. The movie follows the journey of protagonist Rachel Chu as she travels with her boyfriend to his best friends wedding in Singapore.
If you’ve never heard of any of this, the book is extremely popular garnering glowing reviews from the New York Times and is one of the American made romantic comedies that essentially features an all Asain cast. Typically Hollywood has neglected this market, but with the massive success of all minority cast movies, it’s likely that this trend will continue. Although the movies are drastically different the world took note after Black Panther’s massive success.
The truth is the world has been clamouring to see equal representation of actors in movies, and we couldn’t be happier to see a studio like Warner Bros take the right chance on a movie like this.
The movie hits theatres August 17, 2018.
